In the absence of having anything pleasant to say about the world,… - The Chaos Path
Some men just want to watch the world burn

In the absence of having anything pleasant to say about the world, I'm going to corrupt the gigs meme going round. Mostly for my own benefit, I think I might try and write down every band I've ever got round to seeing. Ha ha! You've seen Lordi!

They were unimaginably terrible, so I went back to my tent and drank some beer instead.

Wow. That's got to be a list to rival sound engineers'.

I was just thinking about you this morning as a tangent to something else. What is Baz short for?

Barry. Or Balthazar. One or the other.

Why were you wondering by the way?

I was trying to figure out what the most common Camgoth name was now two of the Grahams have gone. I got distracted by other things before I found it out though.

God, I wouldn't know where to start...

Well, I would. I'd start by going through my ticket scrapbook which would get me a nearly complete list of all the bands I've seen as headliners at properly-ticketed-in-advance gigs.

Then there's all their support bands. And all the festival bills. And all the bands I've seen in small venues without tickets. And the odd one or two were I lost the ticket before it got stuck in the scrapbook.

Mostly, I'm not sure I could be arsed. Maybe later if I get more bored...

I know the feeling. I was looking back at some old festival line-ups, and kept thinking 'Have I seen them?'. Then there's all the little gigs in Cambridge and Yorkshire comprised of mainly demo bands whose names I'll never remember...

I think I could do this as a bar chart. It's be interesting to see which band I've seen most. It's probably Humanity, actually...

I have a just-about-comprehensive gig record with gaps only for bands that were (a) unpublicised *and* so shit I didn't bother to remember the name or (b) whoever that was supporting Nile & Behemoth at the LA2 a few years ago. Which may or may not have been Akercocke, who I'd seen before, so they're definitely included.

I *haven't* seen Lordi, though I was at thw last Wacken they played.
